Always, always, always on the hunt for new Italian places (well, new to us) all across the Central Florida area, we recently dropped in to Original Anthony’s NY Pizza in Casselberry upon the recommendation of a friend who lives in the area.Located in one of your standard strip malls, nearby parking should be able to find. Once that accomplishment has been made, customers enter to find what could be as expected, a tiny little pizzeria with only about 10 dine-in booths. We would imagine many of Anthony’s regular customers order meals for take-out.
One of the primary reasons we wanted to check out a new place in the area was to find some delicious chicken parmigiana. And that’s just what we did.
Living among a multitude of traditional Italian dishes like Stromboli, Calzones, Hot & Cold Subs, and, of course, pizza, the Chicken Parmigiana comes with a choice of spaghetti, ziti, fettuccine, or linguini. And all of the pasta dishes are served with garlic bread or garlic rolls. On this visit we opted for good ole spaghetti.
We have to say that while this chicken parmigiana wasn’t the best we’ve ever had (can you really have bad chicken parm?), it’s definitely one of the favorites we’ve had in the area.
A few of the other items we’re interested in checking out sometime in the near future are:
- Chicken Palermo. Breast of chicken sautéed with onions with white wine, cream sauce, and spices.
- Breaded Chicken & Garlic. Just be sure to stay away from us afterward! 👀
- Anthony’s Meat Pizza. Pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, ham, bacon, extra cheese. Sounds so good!
