The Copper Rocket in Maitland

The Copper Rocket in Maitland might be considered one of those little places few know about (unless you’re a neighborhood local), or you might miss if you blink. We’ve driven by it a hundred times but have never really even considered popping in until a friend recently suggested we join them there.

Tucked quietly in a little shopping center, just a few blocks north of The Enzian, this sports bar/restaurant (let’s be honest – it’s more sports bar) apparently recently underwent a facelift. There is not necessarily dedicated parking for the venue but there is a very large parking lot just outside so there are ample options.

One thing you’ll note before we get too much farther ahead is the actual bar. Yup – if you look closely those are literally tons of pennies you can see that make up the bar. Hmmm…wonder how much that’s actually worth in value?

Now, again – this is pretty much a bar, so what you can expect from The Copper Rocket menu is…well, pretty much bar food. That said, there are some interesting twists and spins on some of the items.

Once our party entered and found a place to sit, we glanced over the very extensive menu and decided on a few “quick bites” to nosh on (we were in a bit of a hurry to get to a nearby event).

First off, we ordered the Giant Bavarian Pretzel. And giant it is, indeed! The pretzel is served with beer cheese and honey mustard. Definitely plenty for two folks to share…perhaps even three.

We also placed an order for the Beer-Battered Onion Rings because, let’s all be honest with one another – how can you turn down some delicious, crisp fried onions? 💁🏻‍♂️ These were cooked to absolute crunchy perfection and are accompanied with cajun ranch and bbq sauce for dipping.

The last item we ordered to share were the Pulled Pork Sliders. These tiny-but-fulfilling guys come with bbq sauce, mango sriracha, and coleslaw.

And since we only ordered a few items and could only serve up (see what we did there) a few pics for you, we scoured The Copper Rocket’s IG for a handful of additional photos. We have to say these do the joint way more justice than ours:

Like we mentioned earlier, The Copper Rocket menu is pretty extensive and there are definitely some items that caught our eye we’d like to try on a return visit. A few that stick out: The Chicken Parm Hoagie (breaded chicken breast, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese); the Monte Cristo (grape jam, ham, turkey, creole mustard, swiss cheese, pickles, battered & deep fried, dusted with powdered sugar and topped with two fried eggs); the Slow Roasted Beef Deep (slow roasted beef, aus jus, onions, pepper jack cheese, beer cheese, onion rings, banana peppers & house horseradish sauce…served on a hoagie roll); and the Meat Lovers Pizza (bacon, ham, pepperoni, sausage, meatballs). We’ll report back when we do….

In addition to all of the bites and drinks on the menu, there’s a ton of regular entertainment at The Copper Rocket. Things like trivia, karaoke, open mic nights, and dueling pianos. Check out The Copper Rocket’s calendar for specific dates and times.
