Creative City Project is ON FIRE these days and definitely keeping the creative spirit alive in the City Beautiful. Most definitely a welcomed gift in these weird and wild days of caution and social distancing. If you happened to miss the recent Dazzling Nights at Leu Gardens…well, you might not know what we mean. But no worries….
Just yesterday Creative City Project announced their newest interactive experience – Down the Rabbit Hole is coming to Central Florida! Follow Alice through Mead Botanical Garden, where you’ll meet all your favorite characters from Wonderland! This adventure will feature brilliant costumes, theatrical lighting, and a fantastical soundtrack. Check it out:
Now if you’re not familiar with Creative City Project and some of the memorable experiences they’ve created for Central Florida over the years, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! Seriously, though – here’s a little something we pulled from the Creative City Project website, on behalf of Founder and Executive Director Cole Nesmith:
“I started the Creative City Project in 2012 after looking around at so many of my creative friends in music, dance, design, and visual art and thinking, “our city would be better off if more people knew about the amazing work my friends are creating.” So that first year, without much organization, almost no money, and no permission, I (along with help from Lindsay Janssen and Theresa Dobritch) facilitated a performance in a Downtown public space every day during the month of October.
On a whim, we called Orlando Ballet and Cirque du Soleil. They were interested in what we were doing, and they both agreed to participate. Years later, they remain some of our staple collaborating organizations.”
You can read even more about their history and background here.
Down the Rabbit Hole starts February 6th, and tickets are available here* right now.
