I love the Orlando Science Center and have frequented many events there. That said, I’ve never been to their Science of Wine, which is set to return again later this month. This events offers wine lovers and local foodies a look into the art and science of winemaking with an evening of unlimited food, wine and fun on Saturday, April 27 at Orlando Science Center. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, tantalize their taste buds, and more with their general event ticket to the 9th Annual Science of Wine.
Science of Wine is not just another wine tasting, but an oenological odyssey with presentations on multiple aspects of wine growing and wine tasting. Thanks to presenting partner Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, this fundraiser for Orlando Science Center offers guests the opportunity to sample more than 150 fine wines that will be paired with delectable dishes from nearly 30 culinary partners from across Central Florida.
Anyone who purchases a ticket to Science of Wine is then able to reserve a seat to Cooking Demos with Swine & Sons, a Wine Seminar, or both! These experiences are just $20 per person. Limited seating is available. Advance reservations recommended online.
Wine Seminar – How’d It Get There?
Want to become the wine expert within your circle of friends? Join wine sommelier Julie Pepi, CSW Director for Fine Wine in Florida for Trinchero Family Estates for a behind-the-scenes take on the craft of winemaking.
You’ll learn why certain grapes grow better in specific places, what tannin and oak flavors actually are, where the bubbles in your favorite Champagne come from and so much more.
Swine & Sons Cooking Demos
Have you ever wondered why your favorite Cabernet compliments a grilled steak so perfectly, or which white wine would be best with the seafood dish you’re preparing?
We’ll explore the science behind some classic food and wine pairings and discover some “to-dos” and “not-to-dos” in the kitchen by the chef’s at Swine & Sons Provisions. Samplings included!
Tickets for this event are on sale now and are available at OSC.org/wine (not an affiliate link). Science Center members receive a special rate of $100 per ticket, general admission is $125.

If this isn’t necessarily your cup of vino but are still interested in checking out all the goings on throughout the year then check out the Orlando Science Center events section of their website. Also to note: While we were not compensated or even encouraged to post about this event, we were provided info from a local PR agency. We just love sharing about things to do and think the Science Center is a great thing to support!
