Last week you might recall us telling you about a pet adoption event taking place at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. To align with this initiative of providing dogs in need with good homes, the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport location is also announcing their participation as a dog-friendly hotel.
A growing number of their owners take them along when they travel by air. Hyatt Regency OIA now welcomes one dog up to 40 lbs. or two dogs with a combined weight of 75 lbs. for an additional fee of $150 for stays up to six nights. Cats and other pets are not permitted. So if you have any friends or family in town who are bringing their pets along for a little visit…you know a great option to suggest.
Additionally, another really cool way Hyatt is helping promote the “adopt don’t shop” effort is providing “paw-ternity” leave for their employees. Now what this means is Hyatt is offering an additional three days of Paid Time Off (PTO) to those associate adopters of rescue dogs or cats from The Pixel Fund or similar organizations. This can be a very stressful time for dogs and cats; Hyatt believes that being present during that time of transition is important. These days are meant to be used toward the bonding with your new family member and their acclimation to new surroundings. This benefit is only eligible to associates who rescue, as opposed to those who buy a pet from a breeder or pet store. How awesome is that? 🐾
