When I discovered Doghouse in College Park my heart skipped a beat a little. Just enough to let me know life would never be the same. I mean, I love hot dogs and I don’t care who knows it. Clearly since I’m publicizing my affection here. And granted – I don’t eat them terribly often but when I do I go all in. So if you’re a self-proclaimed sometime hot dog lover, a junkie, or even a closeted hot dogger…won’t you join me here?

👆 Everything about that statement – well, we fully agree with and endorse. Sure, not the healthiest of mottos by any means but certainly one of those is bound to bring a smile to your stomach…and face. And as you can see in the images above and below we tried several different things during our visit to Doghouse, which is situated in a stand-alone building on the main street of College Park. There are many, many items on the Doghouse menu–including a healthy option or two for those who are concerned–but here are some of the ones we drooled over…and then consumed.
- ⬆️ Chili Cheese Dog. Technically this item on the menu also comes with diced onions, but you know – we wanted to consider our after breath (that funny when thinking about the chili and dog and everything…).
- ⬆️ Pizza Tots. I mean, it’s tater tots topped with marinara and cheese. Can you even get over it?!
- ⬆️ Classic Hot Dog. Keeping it real simple and to-the-point with this one. Just a regular OG hot dog garnished with ketchup and relish.
- ⬆️ Urban Tots. Parmesan, garlic aioli & herbs. That is all.
Like I mentioned, Doghouse’s menu is rather robust, featuring items already created and recommended for you. But if you’re the type who likes to be innovative or have something specific in mind you’d like to try, there are a lot of toppings available to you to build your own dog.
If you enjoy hot dogs at all I’d strongly recommend checking out this place next time you’re in the College Park area. Even if you’re not it’s worth the drive over (there’s enough to keep you busy in the ‘hood either before or after eating). Even if you don’t like hot dogs, it’s worth a try to see what it’s all about.
PRO TIP: There’s a deal offered if you eat at Doghouse and show your dining receipt at The Soda Fountain next door (they are adjoining) you can get $1 off your ice cream order. More info here (or asking during visit).
