Holiday on the Drive in College Park

“Holiday on the Drive” is an event that takes place every year in December (gasp!) in the beloved neighborhood of College Park. Now, it actually just happened a couple of nights ago so this doesn’t do much in the way of helping you plan or prep for holiday festivities for this year, but perhaps it’ll plant a little reminder in your head when it comes time for thinking about things to do in 2019 (can you believe that’s where we are?!).

Organized and put on by the College Park Main Street, we’d say it’s a festive “street” event welcoming all who reside in Central Florida and beyond, not just its residents.

Holiday on the Drive is a gift…from the College Park Main Street and its sponsors and members. Edgewater Drive, between Smith Street and Clayton Street, is shut down and transformed into a winter wonderland! All the shops, restaurants, and businesses along Edgewater Drive are open to help you get a jump start on your holiday shopping.” – CollegeParkPartnership.com

The Heart of College Park (Albert Park)

A few things that can be found at this neighborhood mini-festival are:

  • Appearance by Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Elves
  • Rock Climbing Wall
  • Power Jump Station
  • Horse & Carriage
  • Train rides
  • Local vendors (restaurants, stores, and businesses)

Here’s a little look at what the scene had to offer:

Looks fun, right? There’s definitely something to offer for the entire family, and chances are your bound to fun into someone you know (either a friendly neighbor or someone from across town).

If you’re unfamiliar with the College Park neighborhood, it’s sandwiched in to the area just north of Colonial/Highway 50 and west of I-4, and hugs the Winter Park part of Central Florida.

Have you ever been to “Holiday on the Drive” or one of the College Park events? Does the neighborhood where you live have any fun events or activities to celebrate the holiday season?
