Dined at Fat Fish Blue at Pointe Orlando for the first time about a week ago. Didn’t know about it? Me neither. I had family in town visiting, and they have ties with an employee who works for the company. I’m not ever shy about the fact that I do most of what I can to avoid places on I-Drive, and Point Orlando is no exception – it’s just not convenient to get to.
However, I’m happy my company and I went and mostly have good things to say. We did not go to the comedy club and simply ate dinner here. The restaurant is basically built as a “hold-over” for the comedy club, I think. Very few tables and there’s even a small state in the dining room, so I’m assuming there’s shows there as well as in the main area.
All of the food we had was quite good. It’s not a menu conducive to “healthy” eating or even someone minding their diet. But it’s not ALL fried goodness. I had a light Mac & Cheese dish with some shrimp added, and my fellow diners both had ribs (looked delicious; I’m not a big rib person).
A couple of beefs I had (pun conveniently not intended):
- A tad pricey, even for I-Drive and the “tourist” area. Average $17-$20 for a dish ($18 for tacos?). Some of the finer dining restaurants in Central Florida offer dishes for those prices.
- They don’t validate the full price of parking. Granted, they help with some (still had to pay a couple of bucks), but I still see that as a bit of a downfall.
I would probably visit again to try another dish, but given the location and prices I don’t think I would frequent Fat Fish.
Any of these look good to you? Check-out Fat Fish Blue for yourself. Here’s the menu if you want to see what other dishes are available before you head over.

(One of these days perhaps I’ll venture out to see what the comedy club piece is all about.)
