Out and About: Prettified Utility Boxes

This isn’t exactly news (well, not new news, anyway), but I’m just now getting around to actually posting about it. You may’ve noticed some utility boxes around town that have been…well, spruced up! There are several in the downtown Orlando area, near where I live.

According to an article published on OrlandoWeekly.com a few months ago, the Mills 50 District commissioned local artists to submit artwork designs for the boxes.

“The purpose of the project is to create an environment which depicts the community’s diversity, creativity, commerce and neighborhoods,” said Joanne Grant, executive director of Mills 50. The main goal is to “beautify the District.”

Have you seen any of these boxes while you’ve been out-and-about around town?
