A place like Pom Pom’s is exactly the reason klynn and I decided to start this blog. I cannot believe I’ve lived in here for nearly 12 years, and I only just this week discovered this great little Orlando sandwich shop. If you’re not familiar either, I can certainly understand why: it’s lodged away in a tiny strip center on Bumby Avenue (there’s also a location in East Orlando, on University Boulevard), and if you blink you’ll miss it.
Pom Pom’s has an extremely eclectic menu of sandwiches, teas, soups, and salads. One tip: if you’re going with a sandwich, choose something fairly simple. One thing I did notice is on many of the dishes, Pom Pom’s goes a tad overboard with “many flavors”. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but for example I had a pork sandwich, and it had like five really different, strong flavors. I ended-up just pulling the meat out and eating that.
Another really cute thing about this eatery is the artwork (which I’m assuming changes frequently) – it reminds me very much of The Peacock Room.
Pom Pom’s is quaint, and a little pricier than the average sandwich shop, but so worth it. Plus they’re open late, so it’s convenient for a late night snack or even after going out on the weekend. INSIGHT: If you absolutely love the bread your sandwich is served on, you can buy a loaf right there in the store!
Now, the ultimate reason to check-out Pom Pom’s:
…and there’s nothing more to say.

I love PomPoms and miss the Bumby location since I don’t work downtown anymore. Now that there is one on University I’m excited because I can go to lunch there now.
And see…all those years we worked at the same place, and you could’ve taken me there! ☺
Alicia we went there for lunch with work peeps! It was a DaFoodie event on Facebook but I’ll remind you next time 🙂

Wow. Never heard of this place, though I’m sure I’ve driven past it hundreds of times. Looking forward to checking it out!
I know! Apparently you & I are the only ones who’ve never been there. Nearly everyone I know knew about it.
P.S. Don’t let the outside turn you off! It’s fun inside….
I can NOT believe you have never eaten here before… I understand though, so many gems to discover here!!
I adore this place, love love love their tea and the cupcakes… OMG – they are from http://www.facebook.com/bluebirdbakeshop
and are AHHMAZING!!!! They are opening their own cupcake shop soon, CANT WAIT!
Maybe we should switch a location for dinner next week to somewhere none of us have been…
It’s funny, too, because I have been into the record store next door many times. Just never noticed Pom Pom’s.
And I’m actually working on a blog post about Blue Bird Bake Shop! Their cupcakes are ah-may-zing!
I’m all about trying new places….
