McDonald’s to Leave Downtown Disney

We all know how upset I was when I first found out Virgin Megastore was leaving what must be a now desolate Downtown Disney. Well, yesterday I ran across a Tweet stating that food monger McDonald’s is now pulling out of its Downtown Disney location. It’s last day of operation is April 30th. Apparently its replacement is the I’ve-never-heard-of-it Pollo Campero.

According to the original article featured on “The Daily Disney” blog, this pull-out has been planned by Disney for several years, and that “their partners are ever-changing.”

I don’t know…. What do you think? Is there more to this story?

  1. Let me ask a question here… Have you ever been in this McDonalds?

It may be the worst example of fast food ever … and it came along with Disney creating a Golden Arches Relationship several years ago while Eisner was at the helm. This is not a loss. The untidy conditions, crampted seating and crush at the counters all made for a NonDisney Experience…

I am sure it was worth the try…but it is not worth any concerns on your part…While Disney wanted a less expensive on site partner, there are others to be had, and I for one am glad to see it go.
