Journeys Backyard Barbeque Tour to rock Orlando with top alternative sport athletes & bands

We received an e-mail at pulseofcentralflorida[at]mail[dot]com not too long ago, requesting to help promote an upcoming event. I’m sure we’ve got some readers who are into sports and music so why not?

Here’s the official press release for the Journeys Backyard Barbeque Tour hitting Orlando on April 25th:

The best athletes in alternative sports and the best new music artists will combine for a lifestyle event like no other as the Journeys Backyard Barbeque Tour makes a national tour stop in the Orlando area on Saturday, April 25 in the South parking lot outside The Florida Mall (8001 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32809).

This free interactive event will hit five select cities, featuring live music performances, and appearances by top national athletes. Pro skateboard athletes from Team Osiris, including legends Pierre Luc Gagnon and Corey Duffel, will fly through the air in gravity-defying demonstrations of the best of skateboard, and freestyle motocross in a 60,000 square-foot “alternative sports playground” of ramps and jumps.

On the tour’s mobile music stage, some of the best alternative music artists from the greater Orlando area, including ”Pathway to Providence,” and “Chasing Thrill” will compete in the “Converse All-Star Battle of the Bands,” for cash prizes — with free live concerts throughout the day, followed by a free show by headliner Kevin Rudolph.

Fans can also enjoy autograph sessions with athletes and bands, and free sponsor giveaways. Admission is free and open to all ages. Event hours are: Noon-6:30 p.m. For updated information visit: www.journeysbbq.com, or call 407.240.5729.
