Orlando Nightclub Zinc Closes

One of my favorite–albeit infrequently visited–nighttime spots in downtown Orlando is Zinc Bar. Apparently I’ve been living under a rock, or just haven’t been paying attention to my surroundings because the venue closed — in late September according to their MySpace page.

This is what the front looks like right now:

Located on the Orange Avenue strip just a block away from the ever-changing Church Street, Zinc Bar always played pretty decent music, was never overly crowded (i.e., still had enough room to walk around without bumping-up next to every stranger in the place), and had a great ambience (something not too many Orlando nightclubs or bars can say).

Bye, bye, Zinc Bar.

If anyone has any news about what might be going in the space where Zinc Bar was located, please let us hear from you.

  1. Really?!?! Y’all really have no clue about Senso? What Zinc bar was…and what Senso is about to become is like trying to compare fruit cake with cheesecake!! I have all the info you need.

  2. @Kim If you really take a look at the venues downtown Orlando offers, coupled with the people who frequent these venues, I’m not that surprised that a more “upper-scale,” decent venue didn’t get that much attention. Kinda sad….

  3. Hmm, I’m surprised to hear Zinc closed. Guess there’s just too much competition to be the next greatest bar downtown.

    So Long, Zinc!
