So klynn and I made the journey out to the House of Blues last night to see Michelle Branch perform, and we were both pleasantly entertained! In all honesty I was probably the bigger fan of the two of us going in, but klynn gained a new respect for Michelle after experiencing her live.
I didn’t chance taking my camera in (we were all but strip-searched prior to entering the venue) but I did manage to get a few pics with my little ‘ole camera phone. This is the best of the ones I snapped, and gives a good idea for the great spot we found:
The House of Blues is a great venue to see shows at. Be on the lookout for a future post specifically about this.
Mister T:
Thanks! I used to go to Atlanta quite a bit when I was younger, being from Central Alabama, but I’ve never been to the HOB venue there. I’ll have to check-it-out next time I visit….
HOB is a decent venue. You should come to Atlanta, we have the BEST;) Looks like a great spot from which to watch the show for sure.
Hey…I never said I minded the strip-search! π I just wish I could’ve taken my camera in. I actually really like the HOB as a concert venue, but it can get pricey.
Gareth, Sometimes you just take the good with the bad. I love The Social with every fiber of my being, but oftentimes you choose a show for the performer, not the venue. It’s serendipitous when you get a great performer at a venue you love … until then, you just “deal” with the sanitized Downtown Disney Atmosphere.
“We were all but strip-searched prior to entering the venue”
vs
“The House of Blues is a great venue to see shows at.”
I would be interested to see how you reconcile these two statements.
Give me a proper rock and roll venue like The Social or Club Firestone any day over the overpriced, sanitized corporate atmosphere at House of Blues/Downtown Disney.
